Karim Rashid applauds life and does it beautifully with his manifesto on design. He reaches across human experience, global, political and economic issues as well as social behaviors, physical and mental interactions. He believes in form, vision, and understanding to describe the design as poetry.
To Karim, manufacturing is another group of principles that include capital investment, ease of production, growth, market share, dissemination, maintenance, and distribution. He embraces in manufacturing service quality, ecological issues, performance, and sustainability.
Karim says that each of these qualities is the shape of our human experience, business, and the environment. To Karim Rashid, design is the business of beauty and the need for every business to be concerned with beauty.
Karim goes on to say that design is not about solving problems but about the beautification of our environments. He says that design is the betterment of our lives, experientially, sensorially, aesthetically, and poetically. Karim Rashid would love to see people change the world and not live in the past. To him, design is nothing shorter than an evolution.
